🍂🦃Our PreK friends had a wonderful time this week getting into the Thanksgiving spirit by creating watercolor turkeys! 🎨✨ After reading the heartwarming book "Thanksgiving at Our House" by Wendy Watson, the kids discussed their own family traditions and how they celebrate this special time of year. 🏡💖 Each child then created their own vibrant turkey masterpiece, using watercolors to bring their creative ideas to life! 🌈🖌️ Not only did this activity spark creativity, but it also helped reinforce concepts like family, gratitude, and the joy of sharing traditions. As a special treat, we also learned a fun Thanksgiving song 🎶 to sing together! 🦃✨ It was a perfect way to celebrate the season and connect with our loved ones. 🍁 Why it matters: Helps children express creativity and understand the importance of family. Encourages conversation about their own holiday traditions. Develops fine motor skills with hands-on art techniques. Teaches kids to celebrate gratitude through music and song! #FamilyTraditions #PreKArt #GratefulHearts #ThanksgivingAtOurHouse #ThanksgivingSong

5th Grade PLTW students engaged in a hands-on activity that allowed them to understand how pulleys work. They built their own basic pulley systems by threading a rope through a grooved wheel. This simple setup demonstrated how pulleys can make lifting or moving objects much easier. As they experimented, students saw that with less effort they could lift heavier items. This practical experience helped them grasp the concept of mechanical advantage in a fun and interactive way.
